Evaluation of the Implementation of the Vehicle StandardsMarch 2007
To fulfil its obligation under the Inter-Governmental Agreement for Regulatory and Operational Reform in Road, Rail and Intermodal Transport the National Transport Commission engaged an independent consultant to undertake an evaluation of the implementation of the model Road Transport Reform (Vehicle Standards) regulations 1999 and the Australian Vehicle Standards Rules 1999.
The evaluation concluded that there has been broad acceptance and national alignment of the model provisions by all States and Territories.
